The GEN M3 has a long-life USGI-spec stainless steel spring, a four-way anti-tilt follower, constant-curve internal design for consistent feeding, and simple tool-less disassembly for easy cleaning, much like the MOE PMAG.

The PMAG 30 GEN M3 also features a revised bolt catch notch on the back of the magazine for greater bolt catch clearance, as well as an over-travel stop on the spine to prevent over-insertion on compatible weapons.
