Today, PMC ammo is known and used worldwide. But how did it come to be?
PMC ammunition is made by one of the main South Korean defense product manufacturing companies — the Poongsan Corporation.
Established in 1968, the Poongsan Corporation was, and still is, known for producing fabricated nonferrous material and precision forging. By 1973, they had set up a plant in Angang as Precision Made Cartridges (PMC) to supply the South Korean military with their armament needs.
PMC production was doing so well that they started selling surplus ammunition on the open market. Nowadays, PMC offers a wide range of cartridges with over 40 different small arms ammunition types for handguns and rifles commercially available worldwide.
No matter if it’s hunting, recreational shooting, plinking, target practice, or self-defense, PMC ammunition is well-positioned within its five different product lines:
- SFX (self-defense and law enforcement cartridge)

One area we should point out is the quality control of PMC ammo — every component is manufactured in-house.
All PMC rounds go through detailed inspection at a charge-checking station that accurately measures the amount of powder in every cartridge. If the weight varies by just two-tenths of grain the round is automatically discarded.
This approach enables PMC to keep strict quality control throughout the entire ammunition production process and makes it a dependable, safe, accurate, and performance-driven ammo.

SFX PMC Ammo
Described as a “hyper expansion for personal defense” round, this cartridge provides seamless and reliable ammunition feeding with semi-automatic handguns.

Bronze PMC Ammo
This high-velocity ammunition gives recreational shooters the satisfaction of using an accurate and reliable cartridge that performs in high-volume shooting situations, like competition or casual target practice.
It is divided into handgun and rifle ammunition.
Bronze Handgun Ammo
Uniformed and reliable cartridges that are present through each of the lines are also present within Bronze calibers. PMC Bronze Handgun ammo is high-performing and accurate — perfectly suitable for high-volume shooters.
There are several types of Bronze handgun cartridges.
Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)
The FMJ cartridges are known for their deep penetration power and almost no expansion. The shooters will appreciate the experience of dependable and effortless feeding in all types of semi-automatic handguns.

Being an over-penetrating round, it’s not the best choice for self-defense or hunting, but overall a great ammo for target practice.
FMJ Truncated Cone
Another great round for shooters that enjoy semi-auto handguns, its truncated cone shape feeds easily through the weapon and won’t lead gun barrels — as its lead core is covered.

FMJ Flat Point
Perfect general-purpose cartridges, especially for target practice. As with other FMJ bullets, these are also non-expanding bullets with extreme penetration power.

Truncated Soft Point

Jacketed Soft Point (JSP)
The purpose of JSP bullets (a.k.a. “soft-nosed”) is to expand upon impact with the target, causing damage bigger than the bullet’s diameter.

Bronze Rifle Ammo

FMJ Bullet
Full metal jacket bullets are known for their penetration power and almost no expansion. This PMC FMJ cartridge has a lead core bullet that is wrapped with a heavy copper jacket.
A great round for target practice.

Pointed Soft Point (PSP)
The main characteristic of PSP bullets is their sharp nose, which, along with their aerodynamically shaped ogival part, ensures a greater expansion upon impact as well as a more effective ballistic coefficient at longer ranges.

eRange PMC Ammo
PMC developed eRange ammo as a way to eliminate heavy metals and airborne lead commonly present at shooting ranges with standard ammunition, and also used its technology to reduce burn residue in firearms.
eRange PMC is best suited for use in personal indoor ranges (often located in basements or outbuildings) that don’t have air filtration systems like indoor commercial ranges do.
