12 Ga – 00 Buck Copper 9P – 2.75″ – Winchester Defender (SB1200PD) – 100 Rounds

Winchester designed its Defender line specifically for personal protection, and this 00 buck load uses copper-plated pellets for better pattern consistency. This listing is Winchester Defender 12 gauge 2-3/4 inch 9 pellet copper-plated 00 buckshot, MPN SB1200PD, sold as 100 rounds.

Winchester rates this load at 1,145 fps. Copper plating hardens the surface of each pellet, which helps the pellets stay round as they travel down the barrel. Rounder pellets fly truer, which tends to produce tighter, more consistent patterns than plain lead buckshot. The moderate velocity keeps recoil more manageable than full-power 1,325 fps loads, which helps with control and follow-up shots in a home defense shotgun. Each of the nine 00 pellets is about .33 caliber.

This ammunition fits shotguns chambered in 12 gauge with a 2-3/4 inch or longer chamber, including the Mossberg 500, 590, and Shockwave, Remington 870, Winchester SXP Defender, Benelli M4 and Nova, Beretta 1301, and Maverick 88. A common question is why copper-plated buckshot matters. Plated pellets resist deforming on firing, so patterns are usually tighter and more even than unplated lead at the same distance. Another common question is how to choose a home defense load. Pattern a few shells at the distances inside your home, since every shotgun and choke combination prints a little differently.

Winchester SB1200PD is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. This listing ships as 10 boxes of 10 rounds for a total of 100 rounds of 12 gauge copper-plated 00 buckshot, enough to pattern your shotgun, practice, and keep it loaded with fresh shells. Stored in a cool, dry place, shotshells stay reliable for years. The 10 round boxes are also a convenient size to keep one box with the shotgun and the rest in storage, so you always have a fresh supply on hand without opening a large case. Rotate the shells in your shotgun once or twice a year and use the older ones for practice.
