Description

When a full-power 00 buck load needs to pattern tight, the FliteControl wad is the answer, and LE127 00 combines the two. This listing is Federal Law Enforcement 12 gauge 2-3/4 inch 00 buckshot, 9 pellets, with the FliteControl wad, MPN LE127 00, sold as a 250 round case.

Federal lists this load at 1,325 fps, full-power speed for 2-3/4 inch 00 buck. The FliteControl wad holds the nine pellets together for several feet beyond the muzzle and then separates cleanly using rear-deploying brakes, which produces much tighter patterns than conventional buckshot at typical engagement distances. That gives this load more reach than standard buckshot while keeping more pellets in a defensive or hunting target zone. Because it is full power, it recoils harder than reduced-recoil versions such as LE132 00.

This ammunition fits shotguns chambered in 12 gauge with a 2-3/4 inch or longer chamber, including the Remington 870, Mossberg 500, 590, and 940 Pro Tactical, Benelli M4 and Supernova, Beretta 1301 Tactical, and Winchester SXP. A common question is whether to choose full-power or reduced-recoil FliteControl. Full power carries more energy and reach, while reduced recoil is easier to control for fast follow-up shots; many agencies pick based on officer qualification results. Another common question is choke selection. Federal recommends cylinder or improved cylinder chokes, and ported chokes can interfere with the wad.

Federal LE127 00 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. This case comes in factory packaging as 50 boxes of 5 rounds for a total of 250 rounds of 12 gauge 9 pellet 00 buckshot. Buying by the case lets you pattern your shotgun and train with the same lot you keep loaded. Store shotshells in a cool, dry place and they will stay reliable for years, so a case is also a practical way to keep a long-term supply for a duty or home defense shotgun on hand.
