This load uses a 45 grain full metal jacket bullet. Unlike soft point and polymer-tipped Hornet loads, the FMJ is designed to hold together rather than expand. That makes it a great choice for paper targets, steel plates, and practice sessions where you just want to shoot your rifle without spending hunting-ammo money. The 45 grain weight is the traditional 22 Hornet bullet, so it stabilizes well in the slower twist barrels found in many older and European Hornet rifles. Sellier & Bellot rates this load at 2,346 fps and 550 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, which keeps recoil and noise very mild. This is target ammo and is not intended for hunting.

The 22 Hornet dates back to the 1930s and was one of the first commercial small-caliber centerfire varmint cartridges. It is quiet, has almost no recoil, and is easy on barrels, which makes it ideal for farm pest control and small predators out to about 200 yards. It is chambered in rifles like the CZ 527, Ruger 77/22 Hornet, Savage Model 25, Mossberg, and many break-action and single-shot guns, including the Thompson/Center Contender and Encore. This imported ammo is new production, brass-cased, Boxer-primed, and non-corrosive. The fired brass is reloadable. Each box holds 20 rounds, and ten boxes make up this 200 round case, kitted by our warehouse from the factory 90-box case.
