223 Rem – 55 gr FMJ-BT – PMC Battle Packs (223A-BP) – 1000 Rounds

PMC Bronze 223A is one of the most widely sold 223 range loads in the country, and the Battle Pack version puts it in sealed 200 round packs that are easy to store and fast to open on range day. This listing is PMC Bronze 223 Remington 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail ammo, MPN 223A-BP, sold as 1,000 rounds.

PMC rates this load at 3,200 fps with 1,250 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The 55 grain FMJ boat tail bullet is the standard 223 practice weight; the boat tail base helps it carry velocity downrange, and it shoots well from 1:7, 1:8, and 1:9 twist barrels. A full metal jacket bullet does not expand reliably, so this is ammunition for training, plinking, steel, and zeroing rather than hunting.

Each Battle Pack is a heavy, vacuum-sealed bag of 200 rounds that keeps out moisture and air, so it is a good format for storing a reserve of rifle ammo. This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 223 Remington, 5.56 NATO, or 223 Wylde, including AR-15 rifles and pistols, the Ruger Mini-14 and American Ranch, Springfield Saint, Smith and Wesson M&P15, and bolt actions chambered in 223. A common question is whether 223 is safe in a 5.56 rifle. Yes. A 5.56 or 223 Wylde chamber safely fires 223 Remington. Firing 5.56 NATO in a rifle marked only 223 is not recommended. Another common question is how this compares to PMC X-Tac 5.56. X-Tac is loaded to 5.56 NATO pressure and is a bit faster, while Bronze 223A is loaded to commercial 223 pressure.

PMC 223A-BP is new production ammunition, not reloads, loaded in South Korea. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This listing ships as 5 Battle Packs of 200 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds of 223 Rem 55 grain FMJ-BT.
