223 Rem – 55 gr SP – PMC (223SP) – 800 Rounds

A soft point bullet turns a 223 rifle into an effective varmint and predator tool, and buying in bulk lets you practice and hunt with the same load. This listing is PMC Bronze 223 Remington 55 grain pointed soft point ammo, MPN 223SP, sold as 800 rounds.

The 55 grain pointed soft point bullet has an exposed lead tip and a copper jacket. On impact the tip starts expansion and the jacket controls it, so the bullet transfers energy quickly on small and medium game. PMC rates this load at 3,200 fps with 1,250 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, which gives a flat trajectory for coyotes, groundhogs, prairie dogs, and other varmints at typical field distances. Unlike FMJ range ammo, this soft point load is designed to expand, which is why many shooters choose it for predator calling and pest control.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 223 Remington, including AR-15 platform rifles, the Ruger Mini-14 and American Ranch, Savage Axis and 110 rifles, the Mossberg Patriot, CZ 527 and 600 series, and other bolt and semi-auto rifles marked 223. A common question is whether 223 soft points can be used for deer. Some states allow 223 for deer and some do not, and many hunters prefer heavier, controlled-expansion bullets for big game, so check your state regulations and choose an appropriate load. Another common question is whether this ammo is safe in a 5.56 rifle. Yes. A 5.56 NATO or 223 Wylde chamber safely fires 223 Remington.

PMC 223SP is new production ammunition, not reloads, loaded in South Korea. Each round uses a brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive, so the brass can be reloaded. This listing ships as 40 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 800 rounds of 223 Rem 55 grain PSP. Buying in bulk keeps you on a consistent load for practice and the field.
