300 AAC Blackout – 220 gr OTM Subsonic – Federal AE (AE300BLKSUP2) – 500 Rounds

The main reason many shooters choose the 300 Blackout is to run a quiet subsonic load through a suppressor, and Federal built this American Eagle load for exactly that. This listing is Federal American Eagle Suppressor 300 Blackout 220 grain open tip match subsonic ammo, MPN AE300BLKSUP2, sold as a 500 round case.

Federal rates this load at 1,000 fps with 488 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, below the speed of sound, so the bullet does not produce a supersonic crack. Paired with a suppressor, that makes for one of the quietest centerfire rifle setups available. The heavy 220 grain open tip match bullet gives the mass needed to stay accurate at subsonic speed and to carry energy downrange. It is a training and target load. Subsonic loads may not cycle every gas system unsuppressed, so many shooters run it with the can attached.

This ammunition fits rifles and pistols chambered in 300 AAC Blackout, including AR-15 pattern 300 BLK uppers with pistol-length gas systems, the SIG MCX and Rattler, the Q Honey Badger, the CMMG Banshee and Resolute in 300 BLK, and bolt rifles like the Ruger American Ranch and Savage 110 in 300 BLK. A common question is whether a 300 BLK rifle needs a suppressor to cycle subsonic ammo. Many will cycle subsonic loads suppressed but not without the can, so test yours both ways. Another common question is what twist rate suits a 220 grain bullet. A 1:7 or 1:8 twist is standard for 300 BLK and stabilizes heavy subsonic bullets well.

Federal AE300BLKSUP2 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA by Federal in Anoka, Minnesota. It uses reloadable brass cases with boxer primers and is non-corrosive. This case contains 25 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 500 rounds. One lot keeps your subsonic zero and cycling consistent, which matters because subsonic point of impact usually differs from supersonic loads.
