308 Win – 150 gr FMJ – Federal American Eagle (AE308D) – 500 Rounds

Federal American Eagle AE308D is a widely used 308 Winchester practice load, made on the same lines as Federal’s premium rifle ammunition. This listing is Federal American Eagle 308 Win 150 grain full metal jacket boat tail ammo, MPN AE308D, sold as a 500 round case.

Federal rates this load at 2,820 fps with 2,648 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The 150 grain FMJ boat tail bullet is a common 308 weight that shoots close to many 150 grain hunting loads, so it is useful for practicing with a hunting rifle before the season. The boat tail base helps the bullet carry velocity for practice at medium and long range. A full metal jacket bullet does not expand reliably, so this ammunition is for target practice, steel, and training rather than hunting.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 308 Winchester, including the Remington 700, Ruger Precision Rifle and American, Savage 10 and 110, Tikka T3x, Bergara B-14, Winchester Model 70, Springfield M1A, FN SCAR 17, and AR-10 platform rifles. A common question is whether 308 Win and 7.62×51 NATO are interchangeable. In most modern rifles they are, but follow your rifle maker’s guidance, especially for older surplus rifles. Another common question is how this compares to 147 grain military ball. The 150 grain bullet is very close in weight, so point of impact is usually similar, but confirm your zero when switching loads.

Federal AE308D is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This case comes in factory packaging as 25 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 500 rounds of 308 Win 150 grain FMJ-BT. Buying by the case keeps you on one production lot so your zero holds from box to box.
