308 Win – 168 gr TSX – Black Hills Gold (1C308BHGN1) – 100 Rounds

Hunters who want a lead-free bullet that holds together on elk and big hogs often settle on the Barnes TSX, and Black Hills loads it in 308 for their premium Gold line. This listing is Black Hills Gold 308 Winchester 168 grain Barnes TSX hollow point ammo, MPN 1C308BHGN1, sold as a 100 round case.

This load is listed at 2,650 fps with 2,619 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The Triple-Shock X is a solid copper bullet with a hollow point that opens into four copper petals on impact. Because there is no lead core to separate, it typically retains nearly all of its weight and penetrates deeply, which is why the 168 grain version suits elk, black bear, wild boar, and large deer. The grooves cut into the shank reduce pressure and fouling. Copper bullets are longer than lead-core bullets of the same weight, so test your rifle for accuracy before the hunt.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 308 Winchester, such as the Winchester Model 70, Remington 700, Browning X-Bolt, Ruger American, Tikka T3x, Savage 110, Bergara B-14, and semi-automatic hunting rifles like the Browning BAR. A common question is whether lead-free ammunition is required where you hunt. Some states and land units, including California, require non-lead ammunition for all hunting, so check current regulations before you go. Another common question is whether a copper bullet needs a minimum impact velocity to expand. Barnes bullets expand best above roughly 1,800 to 2,000 fps, which this load keeps for typical hunting distances.

Black Hills 1C308BHGN1 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in Rapid City, South Dakota. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and non-corrosive priming. This listing ships as 5 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 100 rounds. That is enough to zero, confirm your holds at several distances, and still carry the same lot into the field for a full season.
