35 Rem – 150 gr PSP – Remington Core-Lokt (21491 / R35R1) – 200 Rounds

The 35 Remington is a classic woods cartridge for deer and black bear, and Remington Core-Lokt has been one of its most common factory loads for generations. This listing is Remington Core-Lokt 35 Remington 150 grain pointed soft point ammo, MPN 21491, sold as 200 rounds.

Remington rates this load at 2,300 fps with 1,762 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, dropping to about 1,874 fps and 1,169 ft-lbs at 100 yards. The Core-Lokt bullet, introduced in 1939, uses a progressively tapered jacket locked to the lead core, which controls expansion and helps the bullet hold its weight for penetration. The 150 grain weight is the lighter, flatter shooting option for the 35 Remington, a good fit for whitetail in timber and brush where shots are typically inside 150 yards.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 35 Remington, including the Marlin 336 in 35 Rem, Remington Model 8, 81, 141, and 760 in 35 Rem, and single shot rifles and handguns such as the Thompson Center Contender and Encore. A common question is whether 35 Remington and 350 Legend are the same. They are not. The 350 Legend is a newer straight-wall cartridge with different dimensions, so only fire this ammunition in a firearm marked 35 Remington. Another common question is whether pointed bullets are safe in a tubular magazine. Pointed soft points are generally not recommended in tubular magazines, where the bullet tip rests on the primer ahead of it, so load this round singly or in rifles with box or rotary magazines unless your rifle maker says otherwise.

Remington 21491 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This listing ships as 10 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 200 rounds of 35 Remington 150 grain Core-Lokt PSP from one lot.
