38 Special – 125 gr TMJ-FN – Speer Lawman (53733) – 1000 Rounds

Speer Lawman brings law enforcement training ammunition to the 38 Special, with a Total Metal Jacket bullet that keeps revolvers and indoor range air cleaner than lead round nose ammo. This listing is Speer Lawman 38 Special 125 grain Total Metal Jacket ammo, MPN 53733, sold as a 1,000 round case.

Speer rates this load at about 865 fps with 208 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. It is a standard pressure load, so recoil is mild even in lightweight snub-nose revolvers, which makes it ideal for long practice sessions, teaching new shooters, and building double action trigger control. The Total Metal Jacket fully covers the lead core, including the base, so it leaves far less lead fouling in the barrel, forcing cone, and cylinder than plain lead bullets and puts less lead in the air at the firing line. The bullet does not expand, so this is training ammunition rather than a defensive load.

This ammunition fits revolvers and lever guns chambered in 38 Special, including Smith and Wesson J-frames such as the 642 and 442, the Model 10, 64, and 686, Ruger LCR, SP101, and GP100, Colt Cobra and King Cobra, Taurus 856, Kimber K6s, and 38/357 lever action rifles. It also fits any 357 Magnum revolver, since a 357 chamber safely accepts 38 Special. A common question is whether TMJ ammo is accepted at indoor ranges that restrict exposed lead. TMJ usually qualifies, but confirm with your range. Another common question is whether this load is safe in older revolvers. It is standard pressure, not +P.

Speer Lawman 53733 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA in Lewiston, Idaho. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This case comes in factory packaging as 20 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds of 38 Special 125 grain TMJ.
