The 230 grain round nose is the load the 45 ACP was designed around, and Blazer Brass 5230 is one of the most affordable US-made ways to shoot it by the case. This listing is CCI Blazer Brass 45 ACP 230 grain full metal jacket ammo, MPN 5230, sold as a 1,000 round case.
CCI rates this load at 830 fps with 352 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The heavy 230 grain bullet moves at subsonic speed, giving the 45 its famous slow, rolling recoil impulse and making it naturally quiet through a suppressor. The round nose profile feeds reliably in 1911 pistols, including older guns that can be picky about hollow points and flat points. A full metal jacket bullet does not expand, so this is target and training ammunition rather than a defensive or hunting load.
This ammunition fits pistols and carbines chambered in 45 ACP, also listed as 45 Auto, including the Colt 1911 and its many clones from Springfield, Kimber, Ruger, and Rock Island, the Glock 21, 30, and 41, Smith and Wesson M&P45, SIG P220, HK USP45 and HK45, Springfield XD-M 45, and carbines such as the Kriss Vector and Thompson. A common question is whether 45 ACP and 45 GAP are interchangeable. They are not, so only use this ammunition in a firearm marked 45 ACP or 45 Auto. Another common question is whether Blazer Brass is reloadable. Yes. It uses boxer-primed brass cases.
Blazer Brass 5230 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA by CCI in Lewiston, Idaho. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This case comes in factory packaging as 20 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds of 45 ACP 230 grain FMJ. Buying by the case keeps you on one production lot so your pistol sees consistent ammunition.

Recently placed an order for 1,000 45 ACP with Bulkmunitions. They were one of the few outlets that had ammo in stock. Higher price than from 6 months ago but still reasonable. The order was received within a week. May not be available today.
