45 ACP – 230 gr JHP – Ammo Inc (45230JHP-A20) – 200 Rounds

The 230 grain hollow point is the traditional defensive weight for the 45 ACP, and 200 rounds is enough to test function and then carry from the same supply. This listing is Ammo Inc Signature 45 ACP (45 Auto) 230 grain jacketed hollow point ammo, MPN 45230JHP-A20, sold as 200 rounds for 1911 and polymer pistol owners.

This load is listed at 895 fps with 409 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, a classic 45 ACP velocity that delivers a heavy, slow push rather than a sharp snap. The jacketed hollow point is designed to expand on impact, which increases the wound channel and limits overpenetration compared with a round nose ball load. That makes it a self defense and home defense choice. For high volume practice, a 230 grain full metal jacket load will recoil and print in much the same way at a lower cost.

This ammunition fits pistols chambered in 45 ACP, including 1911 pistols from Colt, Springfield Armory, Kimber, and Ruger, the Glock 21 and 30, SIG P220, Smith and Wesson M&P45, HK USP 45 and HK45, and Springfield XD and XD-M. A common question is whether 45 ACP and 45 GAP are interchangeable. They are not. The 45 GAP case is shorter, so only use ammunition that matches the marking on your barrel. Another common question is whether hollow points are legal everywhere. They are legal in most of the United States, but a few jurisdictions, New Jersey being the best known, restrict possession or carry, so check your local law.

Ammo Inc 45230JHP-A20 is new production ammunition, not reloads, loaded in brass cases with non-corrosive primers. The 200 rounds come as 10 boxes of 20 from one lot. Fire at least a few boxes through your carry pistol and magazines to confirm reliable feeding with this bullet shape, then keep the remaining boxes from the same lot for your carry magazines and spares.
