45 ACP – 230 gr JHP +P – Federal HST LE (P45HST1) – 250 Rounds

For an individual 45 ACP carrier, 250 rounds of HST is the right amount: enough to test your pistol thoroughly, practice with your actual carry load, and keep fresh rounds in your magazines. This listing is Federal Premium Personal Defense HST 45 ACP +P 230 grain jacketed hollow point ammo, MPN P45HST1, sold as 250 rounds.

Federal rates this load at 950 fps with 461 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The heavy 230 grain HST bullet is designed to open to a wide, consistent diameter even after passing through heavy clothing, while retaining nearly all of its weight. The +P loading adds speed for reliable expansion from duty-length and compact barrels. Nickel-plated cases resist corrosion from sweat and humidity, which matters for ammunition that rides in a holster every day.

This ammunition fits 45 ACP pistols rated for +P ammunition, such as the Glock 21 and 30, Smith and Wesson M&P45 Shield, SIG P220, HK45 Compact, Springfield XD-S and XD-M 45, and modern 1911 pistols rated for +P, including Commander and Officer size models from major makers. A common question is how many rounds of your carry load to test. Many instructors recommend at least 100 to 200 rounds through your specific pistol before trusting it for carry, which this pack covers with room to spare. Another common question is how often to rotate carry ammunition. Many carriers swap in fresh rounds every 6 to 12 months and shoot the older rounds at the range. Always confirm your pistol is rated for +P in the owner’s manual.

Federal P45HST1 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA in Anoka, Minnesota. It is non-corrosive and uses boxer-primed, nickel-plated brass. This listing ships as 5 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 250 rounds of 45 ACP +P 230 grain HST. Agencies and heavy users can buy the same load from us in a 1,000 round case.
