The 55 grain FMJ boat tail bullet is the classic M193 weight and shoots well from the 1:7, 1:8, and 1:9 twist barrels found on most AR-15 rifles. A full metal jacket bullet is not designed to expand reliably, so this is ammunition for training, steel, carbine courses, and stocking up rather than hunting.
Each Battle Pack is a heavy, vacuum-sealed bag of 200 rounds. The sealed packaging keeps out moisture and air, which makes Battle Packs a favorite for shooters who want to store a reserve of rifle ammunition and still have it ready to load when it is needed. This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO or 223 Wylde, including AR-15 rifles and carbines, the Ruger Mini-14, Sig MCX, IWI Tavor, FN SCAR 16, and HK416 pattern rifles. A common question is whether 5.56 can be fired in a 223 Remington rifle. It is not recommended. 5.56 NATO runs at higher chamber pressure, so only fire it in a rifle marked 5.56 or 223 Wylde. Another common question is whether this ammo is steel core. It is not. It is a lead core FMJ that is fine for most outdoor ranges.
