5.56x45mm – 62 gr TSX – Black Hills (D556N18) – 500 Rounds

Hunters who want to take deer or hogs with an AR-15 need a bullet that penetrates deeply and holds together, and the Barnes TSX is a common answer. This listing is Black Hills 5.56x45mm NATO 62 grain Barnes TSX ammo, MPN D556N18, sold as 500 rounds.

The Barnes TSX is a solid copper hollow point with no lead core. On impact the nose opens into petals while the shank stays intact, so the bullet keeps nearly all of its weight and drives deep. That makes it a strong choice for deer and hogs with a 5.56 rifle, and its lead-free construction meets requirements in areas that restrict lead ammunition for hunting. Copper bullets are longer than lead bullets of the same weight, so barrel twist matters more than usual.

This ammunition is for rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO or 223 Wylde, including AR-15 rifles from Colt, Daniel Defense, and Ruger, the Ruger Mini-14 marked 5.56, the IWI Tavor, the Sig MCX, and the FN SCAR 16S. A common question is what twist rate a 62 grain copper bullet needs. Because all-copper bullets are long for their weight, a 1:8 or 1:7 twist is the safest choice for full stability. Another common question is whether 5.56 deer hunting is legal in your state. Rules vary, and some states set minimum calibers or energies, so check regulations before the season.

Black Hills D556N18 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA by Black Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota. The cases are brass and the load is non-corrosive. This listing ships as 500 rounds of 5.56 NATO 62 grain TSX. With 500 rounds you can confirm zero, practice from field positions with your actual hunting load, and cover many seasons of deer and hog hunting with a single lot. Copper bullets often shoot to a different point of impact than lead-core practice ammo, so always confirm zero with this exact load.
