5.7x28mm – 27 gr HP – Lead Free – FN SS198LF (10700020) – 500 Rounds

FN designed the 5.7x28mm cartridge, and its own ammunition is still the benchmark for the round. This listing is FN SS198LF 5.7x28mm 27 grain lead-free hollow point ammo, FN product number 10700020, sold as 500 rounds.

FN lists this load at 2,216 fps. The 27 grain bullet is a lead-free hollow point, which means no exposed lead at the muzzle or on impact. That makes it a good fit for indoor ranges that restrict lead, for shooters who want less lead exposure, and for hunting areas that require non-lead projectiles. The light, fast bullet is what gives the 5.7 its flat trajectory and very low recoil, which is why it is popular in both pistols and compact carbines. The hollow point is designed to open on soft targets, and many owners use it for varmints and pests as well as range practice.

This ammunition fits firearms chambered in 5.7x28mm, including the FN Five-seveN and Five-seveN MRD, FN PS90 and P90, Ruger-57, Smith and Wesson M&P 5.7, Palmetto State Armory Rock and 5.7 Dagger, CMMG Banshee and Dissent in 5.7, Kel-Tec P50, and AR-15 uppers built for 5.7x28mm. A common question is how FN product numbers work. FN assigns different numbers to the same load depending on box count, so always check both the SS number and the FN product number when you reorder. Another common question is whether 5.7x28mm and 5.56 are related. They are not, and they are not interchangeable.

FN SS198LF is new production ammunition, not reloads. It is non-corrosive and uses brass cases. This listing ships as 10 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 500 rounds of 5.7x28mm 27 grain lead-free hollow point. Buying 500 at a time keeps you on a consistent lot, which helps 5.7 pistols and carbines cycle and group the same way from box to box. It is a smart way to keep a reserve of a cartridge that has seen supply swings over the years.
