6.5×55 Swedish – 139 Gr SPBT – PPU Metric Rifle (PP6SWS) – 200 Rounds

Prvi Partizan’s Metric Rifle line covers many European and military calibers, and its 6.5×55 Swedish soft point is a popular, affordable hunting load. This listing is PPU Metric Rifle 6.5×55 Swedish 139 grain soft point boat tail ammo, MPN PP6SWS, sold as 200 rounds. It suits hunters who use a Swedish Mauser or a modern rifle in this classic chambering.

PPU rates this load at 2,540 fps with 1,991 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The 139 grain soft point exposes lead at the nose so it expands on impact, and the boat tail helps it hold velocity and resist wind. The long, heavy-for-caliber 6.5mm bullet is known for deep penetration, which is why the 6.5×55 has taken moose in Scandinavia for over a century. In North America, it is an excellent deer load and is used on larger game with good shot placement.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 6.5x55mm Swedish, including Swedish m/96 and m/38 Mausers, Husqvarna sporters, the Tikka T3x, Sako 85, CZ 550, and other modern bolt actions. A common question is what twist rate a 6.5×55 needs for heavy bullets. Most rifles use a 1 in 7.87 or similar fast twist, which stabilizes long 140 grain class bullets well. Another common question is whether the 6.5×55 is enough for elk. With a well-constructed bullet and sensible ranges, many hunters take elk with it, but heavier calibers give more margin.

PPU PP6SWS is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in Serbia by Prvi Partizan. It uses boxer-primed brass cases with non-corrosive priming, and PPU brass is popular among reloaders. This listing ships as 10 boxes of 20 rounds for 200 rounds total from one lot. That provides enough to confirm zero, practice from field positions, and keep one load for many seasons. Soft point hunting ammunition for the Swede is not always on store shelves, so a case in reserve is worth having. Keep the boxes cool and dry between seasons.
