Pick up this 200 round case of PPU PP7AF 7.65×53 Argentine 174 grain FMJ boat tail ammo from Prvi Partizan and keep your Mauser shooting. The 7.65×53 is one of the classic Mauser cartridges, yet loaded ammunition for it can be hard to track down. This case puts 200 fresh, factory loaded rounds on your shelf so you can enjoy your rifle at the range as often as you like.
Each cartridge carries a 174 grain full metal jacket boat tail bullet. The factory rates this load at 2,625 fps with 2,661 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The boat tail base helps the bullet carry its velocity downrange, which makes this load a good fit for longer range practice, sighting in, and military rifle matches. As a non-expanding FMJ, it is intended for target shooting rather than hunting.
The 7.65×53 Argentine, also known as the 7.65×53 Belgian Mauser, was developed by Mauser in 1889 for Belgium. Argentina adopted it for the Model 1891 Mauser and later the Model 1909 Mauser, and the cartridge has carried the Argentine name in the United States ever since. Several other countries also used it in their service rifles. Some Mausers have been rebarreled to other cartridges over the years, so confirm your rifle is chambered for 7.65×53 before loading. PPU, short for Prvi Partizan, has made ammunition in Serbia since 1928 and is one of the few makers still producing this cartridge in volume.
This is new production ammunition, not surplus or reloads. Every round is loaded in a brass case with a Boxer primer, so the brass is reloadable, and the priming is non-corrosive, so there is no need for the special cleaning routine that old military surplus demands. The PP7AF case holds 10 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 200 rounds, enough for many range trips with an Argentine 1891 or 1909. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the boxes sealed until use to protect the cartridges from moisture.
