Pick up this 200 round case of PPU PP7 7mm Mauser 139 grain soft point ammo from Prvi Partizan and keep your 7×57 ready for deer season. The 7mm Mauser has been taking game for well over a century, and it remains a favorite of hunters who appreciate moderate recoil and dependable performance. Buying by the case lets you practice and hunt with the same load.
Each cartridge uses a 139 grain soft point bullet designed to expand on impact for reliable energy transfer and clean, ethical kills. The factory rates this load at 2,657 fps with 2,180 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. That makes it a sound choice for whitetail, mule deer, hogs and similar medium game at typical hunting distances. A soft point is overkill for paper and steel, so pick a full metal jacket load if you only plan to shoot targets.
The 7×57 Mauser, also called the 7mm Mauser and known in Britain as the .275 Rigby, was introduced by Mauser in the early 1890s. Spain adopted it for the Model 1893 Mauser, and it went on to serve in military rifles across Latin America before becoming a respected sporting cartridge around the world. Today it is chambered in a wide range of bolt action and single shot hunting rifles as well as surplus Mausers. Older military rifles should be checked by a gunsmith, and you should always confirm your rifle is chambered for 7×57 Mauser before loading. PPU, short for Prvi Partizan, has made ammunition in Serbia since 1928.
This is new production ammunition, not surplus or reloads. Every round is loaded in a brass case with a Boxer primer, so the brass is reloadable, and the priming is non-corrosive, so there is no need for the special cleaning routine that old military surplus demands. The PP7 case holds 10 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 200 rounds, enough to zero, practice from field positions, and stay on the same lot of ammunition for several seasons. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the boxes sealed until use.
