Terminal Ascent is Federal’s premium long range hunting bullet. It features a Slipstream polymer tip that initiates expansion at velocities as low as about 1,350 fps, so it still performs far downrange where many bullets fail to open. The front of the bullet expands while the bonded lead core and solid copper shank hold everything together, which gives deep penetration and high weight retention on close shots. A long, streamlined profile and AccuChannel groove technology improve accuracy and keep the ballistic coefficient high. Federal rates this load at 3,100 fps and 3,307 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The 155 grain weight keeps recoil lighter than heavier 7mm PRC loads while still carrying plenty of energy for elk, deer, and black bear.

The 7mm PRC was introduced by Hornady in 2022 as a long-action companion to the 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC. It is built to shoot heavy, high-BC 7mm bullets in rifles with fast twist barrels, and it matches or beats the 7mm Remington Magnum while fitting modern long-range designs. It is chambered in rifles like the Bergara B-14, Browning X-Bolt 2, Christensen Arms Mesa and Ridgeline, Savage 110, Ruger Hawkeye, and Seekins Havak. Federal Premium loads use premium components throughout, including nickel-plated cases that resist corrosion and feed smoothly in the field. This American-made Federal ammo is new production, nickel-plated brass-cased, Boxer-primed, and non-corrosive. Because the cases are nickel-plated, we do not recommend them for reloading. Each box holds 20 rounds, and ten boxes make up this 200 round case.
