The 160 grain CX, or Copper alloy eXpanding, bullet is a monolithic, lead-free design. Because it is one solid piece of copper alloy, it cannot separate and it typically retains close to 95 percent of its weight. A polymer tip starts expansion, and the nose opens into sharp petals while the shank keeps driving for deep, straight penetration. That makes it an excellent bullet for elk, moose, and bear, and it is legal in areas that require non-lead ammunition, such as California. Hornady rates this load at 3,000 fps and 3,197 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, with a ballistic coefficient of .596. The Outfitter line also uses weather-sealed, nickel-plated cases that resist moisture and corrosion in rain, snow, and extreme cold.

The 7mm PRC was introduced by Hornady in 2022 as a long-action companion to the 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC. It is built to shoot heavy, high-BC 7mm bullets in rifles with fast twist barrels, and it matches or beats the 7mm Remington Magnum while fitting modern long-range designs. It is chambered in rifles like the Bergara B-14, Browning X-Bolt 2, Christensen Arms Mesa and Ridgeline, Savage 110, Ruger Hawkeye, and Seekins Havak. Since you should practice with the same ammo you hunt with, a 200 round case lets you confirm your zero and drops with the exact load you will carry into the mountains. Copper bullets often print to a different point of impact than lead-core bullets, so confirming your rifle with this load before the hunt is important.

This American-made Hornady ammo is new production, nickel-plated brass-cased, Boxer-primed, and non-corrosive. Because the cases are nickel-plated, we do not recommend them for reloading. Each box holds 20 rounds, and ten boxes make up this 200 round case.
