Federal Hi-Shok is one of the original modern hollow point lines, and the 147 grain 9mm version has been in holsters and patrol cars for decades. This listing is Federal Hi-Shok 9mm Luger 147 grain jacketed hollow point ammo, MPN 9MS, sold as a 1,000 round case.
Federal rates this load at 1,000 fps with 326 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The 147 grain bullet is subsonic, which makes it quieter through a suppressor and gives it a soft, push-style recoil. The Hi-Shok hollow point uses notched jacket walls to help it open on impact. It is a traditional cup-and-core hollow point rather than a bonded or barrier-optimized design like Federal HST, which is why many shooters buy Hi-Shok as an affordable hollow point for practice, confirming that their pistol feeds hollow points, and home defense, while others carry it as a proven load.
It fits any 9mm Luger (9x19mm) handgun or carbine, from a Glock 19 or SIG P365 to a Beretta 92FS, Taurus G3, Walther PDP, or Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0. A common question is the difference between Hi-Shok and HST. Both are Federal hollow points; HST is the newer premium design built to expand more consistently through barriers, while Hi-Shok is the older, lower cost design. Another common question is whether this is +P. It is not. It is standard pressure and safe in any 9mm firearm in good condition.
Federal 9MS is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive. This case comes in factory packaging as 20 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds of 9mm 147 grain Hi-Shok JHP. Buying by the case keeps you on one production lot for consistent function and point of impact from box to box.

The 147 g Federal Hi Shok 9mm performed beautifully in my Hellcat. Two 15 round magazines ended up in one small and ragged hole from 10 yards. Granted I was using the red dot, but all rounds were inside of 1.5 inches. The price was excellent, and I was surprised to find that it has arrived at my house in 2 days. You can’t beat that!
Thanks for providing a high-quality product at a reasonable price.
