Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +P is one of the most widely issued 9mm duty loads in American law enforcement. This listing is Speer Gold Dot 9mm Luger +P 124 grain Gold Dot hollow point ammo, MPN 53617, sold as a 1,000 round case for agencies, instructors, and serious carriers.
Speer rates this load at 1,220 fps with 410 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. Gold Dot bullets are made by bonding the jacket to the lead core one atom at a time through an electrochemical process, so the jacket and core stay together on impact. That bonding is what lets Gold Dot expand reliably and hold its weight through common barriers such as heavy clothing and auto glass. The +P loading adds velocity for more consistent expansion. Nickel-plated cases resist corrosion and extract smoothly, which matters for duty ammunition carried every day.
This ammunition fits 9mm Luger firearms rated for +P ammunition, including the Glock 17, 19, 26, 45, and 47, SIG P320 and P226, Smith and Wesson M&P9, Beretta 92 and APX, HK VP9, and Springfield Echelon. A common question is whether +P is safe in my pistol. Most modern 9mm duty pistols are rated for +P, but check your owner’s manual, and avoid +P in older or lightweight guns that are not approved for it. Another common question is the difference between 53617 and the 23617GD. They are the same Gold Dot 124 grain +P load; the item number reflects packaging, with 53617 in 50 round duty boxes and 23617GD in 20 round boxes.
Speer 53617 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA in Lewiston, Idaho. It is non-corrosive and uses boxer-primed, nickel-plated brass. This case comes in factory packaging as 20 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds, enough for reliability testing, qualification, and regular carry rotation from one lot.

Like others have said the nice part about bulkmunitions is the double box that reduces the amount of split open boxes.

It’s great to find an ammunition supplier who always has what I want in stock, and at reasonable prices. I also appreciate the tithe to good causes (I chose the Salvation Army). My order arrived in perfect condition (double boxed for protection) and it came quickly as promised. I was provided the shipping tracking number and was able to watch the shipment’s progress from departure through arrival at my home. I’ll continue to fulfill my ammunition requirements with BulkMunitions!

I have been purchasing 9mm Ammo for a while now at Bulk Munitions. Funny thing. They seem to be the only ones that have the good stuff (Federal HST and Speer) in stock and at the best current market price. My GO TO source for what I need.

I was very pleased. I ordered 1000 rounds on mon. The 11th, received my order in good shape on Fri. the 15th. But it is very disheartening to return on Monday the 18th to see that they jacked the price up $193.00 over the weekend on the same 1000 rounds!
