Description

Federal HST is carried by more law enforcement agencies than almost any other 9mm hollow point, and the P9HST1 is its standard pressure 124 grain version. This listing is Federal Premium Personal Defense HST 9mm Luger 124 grain jacketed hollow point ammo, MPN P9HST1, sold as a 1,000 round case for agencies, instructors, and serious carriers.

Federal rates this load at 1,150 fps with 364 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The HST bullet is designed to expand reliably after passing through heavy clothing and other common barriers while holding nearly all of its weight, and it is built around the penetration standards many agencies require for duty ammunition. Because it is standard pressure rather than +P, it is a good fit for compact pistols, older 9mm handguns, and shooters who want HST performance with a little less recoil than the +P version.

This ammunition fits firearms chambered in 9mm Luger, including the Glock 19, 26, 43, 43X, and 48, SIG P365 and P320, Smith and Wesson M&P9 and Shield Plus, Springfield Hellcat, Ruger Max-9, and Walther PDP. A common question is the difference between P9HST1 and P9HST3. Both use a 124 grain HST bullet; P9HST1 is standard pressure at 1,150 fps and P9HST3 is +P at 1,200 fps. Another common question is why buy defensive ammo by the case. A full case lets you confirm reliability in your pistol with a few hundred rounds, qualify with the same load you carry, and rotate carry ammo on a schedule.

Federal P9HST1 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA in Anoka, Minnesota. It uses boxer-primed, nickel-plated brass cases that resist corrosion and extract smoothly, and it is non-corrosive. This case comes in factory packaging as 20 boxes of 50 rounds for a total of 1,000 rounds of 9mm 124 grain HST.

    Ordered 1000 rounds of this bulk 9mm HST ammo (p9hst1) a few weeks ago and have been very happy with the performance so far. I did quite a bit of research before investing in this round for my carry gun. The ballistics testing I looked at had this round as one of the best matches for FBI protocol. Cycles in my 9mm M&P Shield perfectly and have had zero issues after 100 rounds at the range (practice with what you carry!). I would highly recommend for anyone that is serious about protecting themselves and loved ones. (the low price on the ammo is a big help too!). The world seems to get crazier by the day…
