22 LR – 40 gr LRN – Federal AutoMatch (AM22) – 3250 Rounds

Federal AutoMatch is built specifically to make semi-automatic 22 rifles and pistols run, and the 325 round box makes it one of the most convenient bulk rimfire loads available. This listing is Federal Champion AutoMatch 22 Long Rifle 40 grain lead round nose ammo, MPN AM22, sold as 3,250 rounds.

Federal rates this load at 1,200 fps with 128 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The high-velocity 40 grain bullet produces enough energy to cycle blowback 22 actions reliably, which is the main reason AutoMatch has a following among owners of semi-auto rimfires. It is a solid choice for plinking, training new shooters, rimfire steel challenges, and informal small game and pest control at short range. The lead round nose is a solid bullet rather than a hollow point.

This ammunition fits rifles and handguns chambered in 22 Long Rifle, including the Ruger 10/22, Mark IV, and SR22, Marlin Model 60, Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 and Victory, Browning Buck Mark, Taurus TX22, SIG P322, Glock 44, Henry lever actions, and bolt action 22 rifles. A common question is whether 22 LR ammo works in a 22 Magnum or 22 Short firearm. It does not, so only use it in a firearm marked 22 Long Rifle. Another common question is why AutoMatch comes in 325 round boxes. The larger box means fewer boxes to open, and each box conveniently fills many 10/22 and 15-22 magazines in a single range session.

Federal AM22 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA. It is a non-corrosive rimfire load and, like all rimfire ammunition, it is not reloadable. This listing ships as 10 boxes of 325 rounds for a total of 3,250 rounds of 22 LR 40 grain lead round nose. Buying in bulk keeps a busy rimfire shooter stocked for many months of plinking.
