6mm Creedmoor – 108 gr ELD-Match – Hornady (81391) – 200 Rounds

The 6mm Creedmoor became a favorite in precision rifle competition because of its flat trajectory, light recoil, and wind-bucking bullets, and Hornady’s 108 grain ELD Match is a benchmark factory load for it. This listing is Hornady Match 6mm Creedmoor 108 grain ELD Match ammo, MPN 81391, sold as a 200 round case.

Hornady rates this load at 2,960 fps with 2,101 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The ELD Match bullet has a high ballistic coefficient and a Heat Shield tip that resists deformation from aerodynamic heating, which helps the bullet hold a consistent ballistic coefficient over long flight times. That translates into predictable drops and less wind drift at extended distances. Hornady loads Match ammunition with carefully selected components for consistent velocity, which is what PRS and NRL shooters need when they are working from a ballistic calculator. This is a target load, not a hunting load.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 6mm Creedmoor, including the Ruger Precision Rifle, Bergara B-14 HMR and Premier series, Tikka T3x TAC A1, Savage 110 Elite Precision, Christensen Arms MPR, Masterpiece Arms and custom precision rifles, and AR-10 platform rifles in 6mm Creedmoor. A common question is whether 6mm Creedmoor and 6.5 Creedmoor are interchangeable. They are not. 6mm Creedmoor is necked down to a 6mm bullet, so only fire this ammunition in a rifle marked 6mm Creedmoor. Another common question is what twist rate it needs. A 1:8 or faster twist is the usual recommendation for 108 grain bullets.

Hornady 81391 is new production ammunition, not reloads, made in the USA in Grand Island, Nebraska. Each round uses a reloadable brass case with a boxer primer and is non-corrosive, and the brass is valued by handloaders. This case comes in factory packaging as 10 boxes of 20 rounds for a total of 200 rounds of 6mm Creedmoor 108 grain ELD Match from one lot.
