7.62x39mm – 122 gr. FMJ Steel Case – Wolf Performance Ammo (WPA762FMJ) – 1000 Rounds

Steel-cased 7.62×39 is the traditional way to feed an AK or SKS affordably, and Wolf is one of the most recognized names in the category. This listing is Wolf Performance 7.62x39mm 122 grain full metal jacket ammo with steel cases, MPN WPA762FMJ, sold as 1,000 rounds.

The 122 grain FMJ bullet is close to the standard 123 grain 7.62×39 military weight, so it shoots to a similar point of impact as most surplus and commercial loads. Steel cases with Berdan primers keep costs down; the cases are not reloadable and are magnetic, so they are easy to pick up at ranges that require cleanup. AK pattern rifles and the SKS were designed around steel-cased ammunition, and most run it reliably. A full metal jacket bullet does not expand reliably, so this ammunition is for target practice and plinking rather than hunting.

This ammunition fits rifles chambered in 7.62x39mm, including AK-47 and AKM pattern rifles from makers such as Arsenal, Zastava, Palmetto State Armory, Century, and Riley Defense, the SKS, the Ruger Mini-30, and the CZ Bren 2. AR-15 rifles built for 7.62×39 and some bolt actions can be pickier with steel cases, so test a box in those rifles. A common question is whether steel-cased ammo damages an AK. AK rifles are designed for it and generally run it without issue. Another common question is whether steel case is allowed at my range. Some ranges, especially indoor facilities, ban steel-cased or bimetal-jacketed ammunition, so check first.

Wolf WPA762FMJ is new production ammunition, not reloads, and it is non-corrosive. This listing ships as 1,000 rounds of 7.62×39 122 grain FMJ, a single lot that keeps practice consistent while keeping the cost per round low. Steel-cased ammunition can leave more carbon in the chamber than brass, so a quick cleaning after a long session keeps an AK or SKS running smoothly. Storing the rounds in a sealed can protects the lacquered or polymer-coated cases from humidity.
