22 LR – 40 gr CPRN – Federal Small-Game (710) – 5000 Rounds

A 5,000 round case of 22 LR covers a lot of plinking, training, and small game hunting, and Federal 710 is a reliable high velocity load to fill it. This listing is Federal 22 Long Rifle 40 grain copper-plated round nose ammo, MPN 710, sold as a 5,000 round case.

Federal rates this load at 1,240 fps with 137 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. That high velocity loading delivers enough energy to cycle semi-automatic rifles and pistols reliably, and the copper-plated bullet reduces lead fouling in the barrel compared with bare lead. The 40 grain round nose is a solid bullet, a classic choice for squirrels, rabbits, and pest control at typical rimfire distances, as well as for target shooting and plinking. Federal also makes a 38 grain hollow point load under part 712, so check the part number if you want a hollow point instead.

This ammunition fits rifles and handguns chambered in 22 Long Rifle, including the Ruger 10/22, Mark IV, and SR22, Marlin Model 60 and 795, Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22, Browning Buck Mark, Henry lever actions, Savage Mark II, CZ 457, Taurus TX22, SIG P322, and Glock 44. A common question is whether 22 LR can be fired in a 22 Short or 22 WMR firearm. It cannot, so only use it in a firearm marked 22 Long Rifle. Another common question is how much 22 LR a busy shooter goes through. A family that shoots rimfire every weekend can easily use several hundred rounds per outing, which is why many buy by the case.

Federal 710 is new production ammunition, made in the USA. It is a non-corrosive rimfire load and, like all rimfire ammunition, it is not reloadable. This listing ships as 10 bricks of 500 rounds for a total of 5,000 rounds of 22 LR 40 grain CPRN from one production lot.
