Where is Federal ammunition made?

More About Federal Ammunition

Federal was founded in 1922 in Anoka, Minnesota, where it began by making shotshells for the sporting market. Over the next century it grew into one of the largest ammunition makers in the country, with handgun, rifle, rimfire, and shotgun lines.

Federal's biggest mark on defensive ammunition came with the Hydra-Shok hollow point in the late 1980s, followed by the HST, which became one of the most widely issued law enforcement duty loads in the United States. On the precision side, Gold Medal ammunition loaded with Sierra MatchKing bullets has been a staple of high power and long-range competition for decades.

Today Federal is part of The Kinetic Group alongside CCI, Speer, and Remington, and it still makes its ammunition in Anoka. For shooters, that means American-made ammo with consistent quality, from bulk range cases to duty-grade defensive loads.
