Maglula AR-15 Magazine Loader – 223 Rem / 5.56x45mm (LU10B)

The Maglula LULA, MPN LU10B, is the standard AR-15 and M4 magazine loader and unloader for 223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO. This is the Maglula Gen II LULA, which carries a NATO stock number, and it is sized to drop into a pocket or a magazine pouch. If you load a lot of 30 round magazines at the range, in a carbine class, or when you stock up on bulk 5.56, the LULA saves your thumbs and speeds up the job.

The LULA clamps onto the top of the magazine. Each squeeze of the lever pushes the stack down so you can drop the next round in from the top, one round at a time, without pressing on the cartridge or the feed lips. Unloading works by pushing rounds forward off the stack. Because the tool does the work instead of your thumb, it also cuts wear on the magazine feed lips, which helps polymer magazines last longer. The Gen II design also fits and releases from magazines held together in a coupler.

Maglula rates the LU10B for all metal and plastic 223 and 5.56 AR pattern magazines in 10, 20, 30, 40 and 100 round sizes, including USGI aluminum (NATO STANAG 4179), Magpul PMAG, Lancer, Hexmag, H&K 416 steel, SA80, Beretta AR 70-90 and SIG black magazines. A common question is whether it loads 300 Blackout. 300 BLK uses the same AR magazine body, so many shooters use the LULA for it, but Maglula only rates it for 223 and 5.56 and says it may also load some 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC magazines. Another common question is about drums. Maglula notes it may not work well with all drum magazines, so try it before relying on it.
