This is the orange version of the Maglula UpLULA pistol magazine loader, MPN UP60BO. The bright color makes it easy to spot on a shooting bench, in the grass, or at the bottom of a cluttered range bag, which is why instructors and match shooters often prefer it to the black model. Functionally it is the same tool as the black UP60B: a compact polymer loader and unloader for pistol magazines chambered from 9mm Luger through 45 ACP, built to take the strain off your thumbs during long range sessions and training days.
Use is simple. Place the loader over the top of the magazine, set a cartridge under the feed lips, and squeeze; each squeeze presses the stack down so the next round slides in. Experienced users load at about one round per second. To unload, the same tool pushes rounds forward off the stack without prying at them with a fingernail.
Here is the honest version of the word universal. The UpLULA fits most double stack magazines as shipped, including popular Glock, M&P, SIG, Springfield, CZ, Beretta and Ruger service pistol magazines in 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45 ACP. Single stack magazines up to 14.5 mm (0.57 inch) wide, such as 1911 magazines and thin single stack 9mm carry pistol magazines, rattle in the body and require the Maglula 1911AI Aligner Insert (MPN UP65G), sold separately, to load reliably. A common question is which magazines will not work at all. Maglula lists the Glock 36, the Smith and Wesson 908, 3913, 3953 and 3954 seven round 9mm magazines, the Kel-Tec PMR-30 and the Luger P08, plus any cartridge longer than 33 mm overall (9×23, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 45 Colt) and magazines with feed lips closer than 8 mm. Another common question is about 380 Auto and 22 LR. Most 22 LR and 380 Auto magazines are a better fit for the Maglula BabyUpLULA (UP64B), though wider 380 magazines such as the Glock 42, Ruger LC380 and SIG P365-380 load on this UpLULA.
The loader weighs about 2.55 ounces and has no parts to set or adjust; it adapts to each magazine on its own. On some very stiff high capacity magazines the final round may still need a push by hand. This listing is for one new Maglula UpLULA in orange. If you want to confirm fit for a particular pistol before you buy, send us the make and model and we will check it.
