MagLULA Pistol Mag Loader – 22 LR to 380 ACP (UP64B) – Black – 1

The Maglula BabyUpLULA, MPN UP64B, is the small caliber member of the UpLULA family: a pocket size loader and unloader for single stack pistol magazines in 22 LR, 25 ACP, 32 ACP and 380 ACP (9mm Kurz). Small caliber magazines have stiff springs and tiny rounds that are hard to grip, which makes thumb loading slow and sore. The BabyUpLULA lets the rounds drop into the magazine without pressing on them, at up to one round per second, which Maglula rates at about a third of the time of loading by thumb. There are no inserts, spacers or settings to change between magazines.

Fit depends on the size of the magazine, not just the caliber. Maglula sizes the BabyUpLULA for single stack, narrow body magazines less than 1/2 inch wide, measured across any side button, and no more than 1 1/8 inch (29 mm) deep from front to back, with a normal feed lip angle. That covers most compact 22, 25, 32 and 380 pocket pistol magazines. Maglula lists these as not compatible: Ruger Mark I, II and III magazines (their follower button sticks out), the Beretta 81 Cheetah 12 round 32 ACP, the Henry AR-7, the Colt Ace 22, the Glock 44, and wide 22 LR conversion magazines.

A common question is whether it fits a Glock 42 or other modern 380 carry pistols. Several newer 380 magazines are wider than 1/2 inch and load on the full size Maglula UpLULA (UP60B) instead: the Glock 42, Ruger LC380 and Security 380, SIG P365-380, Smith and Wesson M&P Shield EZ 380 and Bodyguard 2.0. For the SIG P290 380 and the Walther CCP 380, Maglula recommends the UpLULA fitted with the 1911AI Aligner Insert (UP65G). Another common question is whether it unloads. It does: the same tool pushes rounds out of the magazine without prying at them, which saves the feed lips and your fingernails.

The body is reinforced polymer and weighs about 1.41 ounces, small enough to carry in a pocket or ride in a pistol case next to the magazines it loads.
