Maglula 1911AI Aligner Insert for UpLULA – Single Stack Magazines (UP65G) – 2 Pack

The Maglula 1911AI Aligner Insert, MPN UP65G, is an add-on for the Maglula UpLULA pistol magazine loader that lets it load single stack magazines cleanly. It is not a loader on its own. The Maglula UpLULA 9mm to 45 ACP loader (UP60B) is sized for double stack magazines, so a narrow single stack magazine, such as a 1911 magazine or a slim 9mm carry pistol magazine, can shift around inside the loader body and cause rounds to go in crooked or not at all. The insert takes up that extra space and holds the magazine straight. This listing is a 2 pack, so you get two inserts: one for each loader you own, or a spare for the range bag.

Installation takes a few seconds and needs no tools. The insert connects to the ring on the loader and clicks down to the bottom of the loader body, narrowing the opening for a single stack magazine. When you go back to loading wide double stack magazines, release the insert and the loader returns to its full width. Nothing on the loader is modified, so you can switch between single stack and double stack magazines during the same range session.

With the UpLULA, in black (UP60B) or orange (UP60BO), the insert handles 1911 magazines in 45 ACP, 1911 width 40 S&W magazines, and 9mm single stack magazines. With the separate Maglula 22UpLULA, it handles 22 LR conversion magazines built to 1911 width. It works with magazines narrower than 14.5 mm (0.57 inch); wider magazines will not fit with the insert installed. A common question is whether it fits the BabyUpLULA. It does not. It is made for the UpLULA and 22UpLULA, while the BabyUpLULA (UP64B) is already sized for small 22 LR through 380 ACP magazines. Another common question is whether the insert makes every magazine compatible. It does not: magazines Maglula lists as not compatible with the UpLULA, such as the Glock 36 and the Smith and Wesson 908, 3913, 3953 and 3954 seven round 9mm magazines, are still not supported.

The inserts are molded from reinforced gray polymer and made by Maglula, the same company that makes the UpLULA. This is a new, factory packaged product containing two inserts. If you load mostly 1911 or single stack carry magazines, buy the insert together with the loader so it works on day one.
